About NIT Silchar: National Institute Of Technology Silchar (NIT Silchar) is one of the 31 NITs of India and was established in 1967 as a Regional Engineering College in Silchar. It was upgraded to the status of National Institute of Technology and was declared as Institute of National Importance under the National Institutes of Technology Act, 2007. About NIT Silchar Summer Internship 2020 Notification

This Summer Internship program attempts to bring together students from prominent institutions across the country to our campus. It will allow external and internal students to participate in research projects, undergo mentorship by faculties of NIT Silcharthereby leading to close conglomerates and collaborations between respective institutions.

Eligibility Criteria of NIT Silchar Summer Internship 2020

• External and Internal Students of B.Tech pre-final year(3rdYear)in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, Computer science engineering, Electronics and communication engineering, electrical engineering, Electronics, and Instrumentation Engineering are eligible to apply.
• Applicants above CPI 7or 70% can apply.

NIT Silchar Summer Internship 2020 Requirements & Application

• Students may apply for the proposed research proposal.
• The application format is available in the institute website www.nits.ac.in
• The internship will be under the mentorship of a faculty from NITS.
• For external candidates, a bonafide cum recommendation letter is required from the parent institute.
• The application form should be duly signed and forwarded by the HOD of that institution.
• Applicants are requested to contact the individual faculties of respective departments (www.nits.ac.in) and after getting consent from the respective faculty, they can apply for Summer Internship.
• Letter of consent from host faculty” should be submitted along with application form.
• Applicants are to submit a report to the individual faculty/department after the end of the internship.
• The application should be made in the prescribed format as available on NIT, Trichy website. It has to be duly signed, scanned and then sent to your supervisor as an email attachment with enclosures.

Selection Procedure 

After the submission of applications, a thorough review of the applications will take place. The list of shortlisted applications will be uploaded on the institute website.

Accommodation

Accommodation and food facilities will be provided for External students in Hostels/Cafe/ Guest House on a chargeable basis.

• Kindly go through the list of internship positions that are available for Summer 2020.
• Identify the ones that interest you the most. You can find an overview of the research interests of each faculty member from their profiles
• Students are required to fill in all the fields in the application form with specific and valid data.
• Applications should be made in the prescribed format on the Trichy website. It has to be duly signed, scanned and then sent to your supervisor as an email attachment with enclosures.
• List of shortlisted candidates for the internship will be published in the 1st week of May 2020.
• At the successful completion of the Summer Internship, students will receive certificates.
